Beets Rock

Beets and their greens are essential for a healthy happy liver and gallbladder. Beets help regulate hormones and support proper elimination. Beets are our friends and should be eaten regularly. If you have a sluggish liver and gallbladder the Salad should be eaten daily and a Purification program may be in store to help you jump start your health.

Shredded Beet Salad

  • 3 beets with beet greens (Organic is best)
  • 1 teaspoon minced ginger
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • ¼ cup organic cold pressed olive oil
  • 1/8 cup apple cider vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon salt (I use a combination of equal parts sea salt, dulse flakes and dried onion granules)

Shred the beets with a food processor or hand-held grater, chop the beet greens, and mix all ingredients together. This will stay fresh for a number of days in the refrigerator and eating half a cup or more a day will help optimize Liver and Gallbladder balance. The Standard Process product AF Betafood is primarily composed of raw beets and beet greens. This is an essential supplement to many of my clients with Liver and Gallbladder disorders and blood sugar imbalance. If you can’t eat this salad daily, consider AF Betafood to supplement your diet.

Dried Beet or Carrot Chips
Wash and peel a number of raw beets (or carrots). Slice thinly and place in a single layer in the food dehydrator and dehydrate overnight until vegetable is dry and munchable (I am nibbling on mine as I type this). Feel free to add a little olive oil and spices to your taste (or some left over sauce from the “Cheesy” Kale chip recipe). Yummy, nutritious and pretty.
